VIRTUAL REALITY AND AUGMENTED REALITY - CASTLE OF SELLES-SUR-CHER
The castle of Selles-sur-Cher back to life for only 3 years. After more than ten years of abandonment, it gradually reborn thanks to the efforts of its owner and many volunteers. In this context, the Ways Phil and Lou have accompanied this project by offering an innovative tool coupling two developing technologies of virtual reality and augmented reality. We have worked to offer a product sublimating the millennial history of the castle while a real contribution to marketing it. This versatile tool is designed to evolve over time and renovations of the historic site.
3D IMMERSION WITH VIRTUAL REALITY
Virtual reality can relive the heart of the castle as it appeared at various times in its history. By inserting the visit of tablet, previously rented to the home of the castle, in the virtual reality helmet, visitors can relive the history of the castle at different times of the medieval castle motte UNTIL seventeenth through the castle Medieval Richard Courtenay. Several areas are dedicated to these experiments at various points of the visit. This unique experience has required considerable historical research but also to "optimization to offer visitors the most complete immersion with a common digital tablet.
VIRTUAL REALITY WITH AUGMENTED GUIDE
With more than 60 markers placed along the trail, famous people of the castle wake up and explain their history through augmented reality. Thus becoming true virtual guides, they animate parts of the castle and take place against the visitor through the tablet. Visitors can revolve around them or get closer as if these characters were actually present. It is possible to meet characters like Joan of Arc, Georges de la Trémoille or Charles VII. The visteur can also witness scenes from the life of the castle as the site of Châteu. Augmented reality adds to the reality of the twenty-first century life of past centuries.
